On May 5th, I joined some friends for an art walk around the Atwood neighborhood. I was planning to develop a batch of color film soon and needed a few more rolls to make it worth it. I had a box of Lomochrome Turquoise in my fridge for several months waiting for the right time to use this weird film, and I decided to give it a go on a low-stakes day.

This film lists a box speed of “100 to 400” and knowing that color film has better tolerance for overexposure than underexposure, I set the meter for ISO 100. My understanding is that this film swaps the red and blue “channels” in the film itself, with the red-sensitive layer forming blue-complimentary dye clouds and vice-versa, which is a really interesting effect that’s difficult to pre-visualize.
